～注～
　このミッションは、
　Francisのミッション「BLOOD BROTHERS」で
　Francisを倒した場合と、Derrickを倒した場合とで、
　台詞が大きく変わる。展開には、さほど変化はない。

　Francisの墓標は、Colony Island墓地（教会からの移動が短い）に、
　Derrickの墓標は、Steinway墓地（教会からの移動が長い）に立てられる。

～Packieから電話～

Packie : There's one less cop on the streets of Liberty City.

Liberty Cityの路上からおまわりが一人減ったよ。

Niko : What do you mean, Packie?

どういう意味だ、Packie？

Packie : I mean that my cop brother Francis McReary is no longer with us.

警官をやっている俺の兄貴のFrancis McRearyがもう家族からいなくなったってことだ。

Niko : You and Gerry mus be very upset.

お前とGerryはひどく慌てたろうな。

Packie : Hardly-couldn't stand the bastard myself. That said, the only celebrating Gerry's gonna be able to do will be in prison. He got hauled in last night.

俺自身は奴にはほとんど我慢がならなかった。それはそれとして、Gerryがしてやれそうな唯一のお祝いは刑務所に入ることだな。あいつは昨晩捕まった。

Niko : Shit, is it serious?

くそっ、本当なのか？

Packie : Charges ain't gonna stick, don't worry. Anyway, it'd mean a lot to the family if you'd come to Francis's funeral. It's at the church in Suffolk today.

告訴は無効になるだろう、そいつは心配ない。ところで、もしFrancisの葬式に来てくれるなら家族もありがたい。今日、Suffolkの教会でやるんだ。

Niko : I'll stop by, man. I'll see you there.

Packie : Remember to wear a suit, Niko. We can't have you dressed like a bum in the church.

Kate : Hi Niko.

ハイ、Niko。

Niko : Hey, Kate, I am sorry to hear about your brother.

やあ、Kate。兄さんのことでは気の毒だった。

Kate : You're probably the only one. He was too much of a cop for my family to accept him, and too much of a gangster to be accepted by the cops.

そう言ってくれるのは多分あなただけね。あの人は家族にとっては警察官でありすぎたし、警察にとってはギャングスタでありすぎたわ。

Niko : What did you think about him?

君はどう思っていたんだ？

Kate : Tobe honest, I thought this would have happened earlier. Then again, I expect to get a call from the coroner about any one of my brothers every day. You going to be at the funeral?

正直なところでは、もっと早くにこうなることもあり得たと思う。またその一方で、兄弟の誰かを見た検死官から電話が来ることを毎日覚悟してもいたわ。あなたはお葬式に来るの？

Niko : Sure, I'll see you there, Kate. Goodbye.

神父 : And while no one is suggesting he was an angel, none of us are, that is why God put us on earth and not in heaven. The trials of humanity were sometimes too much for him to bear, but he was a committed family man, and a man of beliefs. God asks us to show faith and that is what he did, in his way. Francis gave so much of himself and will be sorely missed by us all.

Niko : I'm sorry for your loss.

Kate : I'm not. I'm sorry for Ma. I give up on my brothers a long time ago. Most I ever expected from them was to put flowers on their coffins.

わたしはそれほど…。気の毒なのは母よ。わたしはずっと以前に兄弟のことは諦めてるわ。わたしがあの人たちに期待するのはお棺に花を供えてくれることぐらいよ。

Packie : At a funeral, Jesus-you scum!

敵 : There will be more funerals in your family.

Packie : I don't reckon they can throw much more at us. I think we got 'em! Make a run for the cars!

Packie : Okay Niko. Time to get out of here but I ain't leaving my poor dead brother to the mercy of them animals.

Packie : Shit, we lost the back doors. Don't lose my brother too. Go easy there, Niko.

Packie : It don't look like they're following us no more, thank fuck. Shit, I never thought I'd be on the run from some Albanian gangsters with a cop in the car.

どうやらもう追ってこないみたいだな。ありがてえ。畜生、車に警官を乗せてアルバニアのギャングなんかから逃げなきゃならなくなるなんて、想像もしなかったぜ。

Niko : Can't we call for backup or something? Are you suggesting that I'm a fucking cop? I thought that you would know better than that.

救援とか、何かそういうものは呼べないのか？俺がおまわりだとでも言っているつもりなのか？お前はもっと頭がいいと思っていたぜ。

Packie : No, you dumb European fuck, I meant my brother, Francis. It was a joke.

Niko : Hell of a fucking time to be making jokes about your dead brother.

お前の死んだ兄貴のことでジョークなんざ言ってる場合かってんだ。

Packie : You know, I'm still not that fond of the guy, even in his death. I guess that's what turning cop'll do to a fraternal relationship.

分かってんだろ。俺は身内が死んだ時だってそこまでソフトになれる男じゃねえんだ。そういうのは寝返った警官が友愛会に向かってやることなんじゃねえのか？

Niko : I guess you've got enough brothers to hate one of them.

兄弟がたくさんいるから一人ぐらいは憎んでいられるってことなんだろうな。

Packie : Swiftly running out, Niko. Ain't got that many left. Now that Francis is on his way to the graveyard, and Gerald is behind bars all I gets left is that smack-head Derrick.

すみやかにいなくなりつつあるさ、Niko。もう多くは残っちゃいねえ。今Francisは墓場に向かう途中だし、Geraldは鉄格子の向こうで、俺に残っているのはヤク中のDerrickだけだ。

Niko : You've got Kate.

Kateがいるさ。

Packie : I could a fucking guessed you'd bring her up. I was thinking you only kept those hitmen away from the church to protect my sister.

クソいまいましくもお前があいつを連れて行っちまうんじゃないかと思ってるんだがな。お前が殺し屋どもを教会から追い払ったのは、ただ妹を守ろうとしただけなんじゃねえか？

Niko : I did it for all of you.

お前らみんなのためにやったことさ。

Packie : Sure you did, Niko. Tell yourself you did it out of the grace of your own heart rather than for another piece of your anatomy. Which ain't gonna get used, I might add.

そうだろうよ。動物的欲求でやったんじゃなく、わが心の高潔さをだまくらかしてやったんだと自分に言い聞かせてるがいいや。ちなみに付け加えておくと、そいつぁ俺にはなじみのねえものだけどな。

～目的地（Colony Island）到着～

Packie : Alright, we're fucking here. Let's bury this bastard.

よし、着いたぜ。この罰当たりを埋めよう。

＜墓に黙祷後、KateとNikoの会話＞
Kate : Thanks, Niko.

ありがと、Niko。

Niko : What for?

何が？

Kate : Guys like you don't like cops. Being here, helping us put...I appreciate it.

あなたみたいな人たちは警官を嫌うわ。ここまで来てくれて、埋葬を手伝ってくれて…感謝してる。

Niko : Is not that I don't like cops, you do what you do to get by. Cops are just regular guys trying to survive. Anyway, I'm not here for Francis. I am here for you and Packie.

俺だって警官が嫌いなわけじゃない、人は生きていくためにやらなきゃならないことをやるだけさ。警官も普通に生き残ろうとしているのさ。何にしても、俺はFrancisのためにここにいるんじゃない。君とPackieのためだ。

Kate : Like I said, thanks. Give me call sometime, Niko.

さっきからこればかり言ってるみたいだけど、ありがとう。そのうち電話をちょうだい、Niko。

Packie : Niko, I don't know if you've heard it but my brother, Derrick's dead.

Niko、聞いたかどうかわからねえが、Derrickの兄貴が死んだ。

Niko : No shit.

知らなかった。なんてこった。

Packie : Yeah. I just hope he was smacked out of his brain when it happened because it wouldn't have suited him to be jonesing when he died.

ああ。俺はただことが起きたとき、奴がラリってブッ飛んでたらいいと思うだけだな。死んだときヤク切れだと居心地が悪いだろうからな。

Niko : There isn't any good way to go though, is there?

もう少しマシな言い方があるんじゃないか。

Packie : I guess not, Gerald got arrested too. They got him in the Alderney State Correctional Facility.

なさそうだな。Geraldも捕まっちまった。今はAlderny州立刑務所にいる。

Niko : They took Gerry down?

Gerryを奴らが捕まえたってのか？

Packie : Don't worry, he's always being hauled in but the charges don't stick. Come to Derrick's funeral. It'd mean a lot to the family. It's today at the Church in Suffolk.

Kate : Yeah. I didn't really know Derrick that well. I remember looking up to him as a kid. He had a dream back then, he was inspired. The Derrick that came back to Liberty City was broken. He probably wanted to die.

ええ。わたしはDerrickのことをよくは知らないの。小さい子供のころにあの人を見上げてたのを覚えてるわ。あの頃の兄は夢を持っていた。生き生きとしてたわ。Liberty Cityに戻ってきたときのDerrickという人は壊れていた。死にたかったんじゃないかしら。

Niko : Yeah, it still has to be hard for you.

Kate : It's hard for my Ma. I'm trying to be there for her. Are you going to be at the funeral?

Packie : I don't think they're after us no more, Niko. If Derrick was alive he'd need a shit load of horse to deal with the stress of this situation.

もう奴らは追っては来ないみたいだな、Niko。もしDerrickが生きてたらこの状況のストレスと付き合うためにクソ大量のヘロインが要ったろうぜ。

Niko : If Derrick was alive we wouldn't be in this situation.

Derrickが生きてりゃこんな状況にはならなかったろ。

Packie : That's a valid point, Niko. Who knows what sort of situations we'd be in? Derrick needed good dose of smack to cope with most of the situations that life threw at him. You gotta admit that.

もっともなご指摘だな、Niko。どんな状況に俺たちが陥るかなんて誰が知ってたろうな？Derrickは生きていれば出くわすほとんどの状況でちょっとした量のヘロインが必要だった。仕方ねえのさ。

Niko : We have our ways of coping, Packie. That was Derrick's. He had a hard life.

俺たちは俺たちなりに協力できるだろ、Packie。Derrickのことだ。奴の人生は厳しかった。

Packie : He's having a hard death too if this is anything to go by. I never knew it was so difficult to put a body in the ground. That's why I normally tie breeze blocks to 'em and throw 'em in the Humboldt.

こういうことになってみれば、奴の死も厳しいってことになるな。死体を地面に埋めるのがこんなに難しいなんて知らなかったぜ。だから俺はいつもコンクリートブロックをくくりつけてHumboldtに投げ込むんだ。

Niko : Is that what you suggest we do with your brother?

そいつを俺たちでお前の兄貴にしてやろうって言ってんのか？

Packie : You're a sick man, Niko. I'd fucking slap you if I didn't love ya so much. It's only consecrated ground for a brother of mine. We're about to lose my brother, Niko!
